ABout DR. Annette

Let me share my story with you.

I’m Dr. Annette Athy, a grief specialist, child development expert, and national speaker with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. With a Ph.D. in Counseling and a career that’s taken me through community mental health, teaching, and advocacy, I bring both professional expertise and deeply personal experience to the stage.

I lead by example—walking the path

I guide others along.

My passion for this work began when I was grieving the loss of my dad while also parenting my children through the heartbreak of losing their grandpa. That season of life taught me what it means to show up in grief while still holding space for others—and it ignited my mission to share practical, body-aware tools that help parents, educators, and professionals navigate the emotions often hidden beneath behavior, stress, and loss.

I created Griefprint, a framework for understanding

how grief leaves an imprint on families and influences everything moving forward. I’ve spoken as a keynote

for the Kansas Librarian Association and led countless workshops for teachers, counselors, and parenting groups. My goal is always the same: to leave people

not just inspired, but equipped with tools they

can use immediately.

When I speak, I love to keep things engaging,

interactive, and real. I don’t just talk theory—I share practical strategies and insights that people can

put into action right away. Audiences often tell

me I helped them get curious, release the

blame-and-shame cycle, and reconnect

with their truth and inner wisdom.

At the heart of my message is a simple belief: we don’t know what we don’t know—but once we know, we can do better.

My talks are designed to spark healing, connection, and courage, whether I’m speaking to parents, educators,

or professionals on the front lines

of support.
